Briarwood College’s Dietetic Technician Program provides a quality education, which will enable you to be a key member of the health care or food service team. The curriculum includes a variety of classes in food service systems management, food and nutrition, and a range of general education courses. Dietetic technicians support the work of registered dietitians and other health care professionals. You will be trained in food and nutrition, becoming an integral part of a health care or food service management team. You will be qualified to assist individuals of any age with nutrition care and counseling in hospitals, public health nutrition programs, long-term care facilities, and other health-related facilities and programs.

Dietetic Technician Career Outlook
According to the US Department of Labor, employment opportunities for dietitians and nutritionists are expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through the year 2010. More than ever, there is awareness and emphasis on disease prevention because f the increase in middle-aged and older populations as well as public interest in nutrition.
