  • Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford, CT
  • St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven, CT
  • The Institute of Living, Hartford, CT
  • Hartford Public Schools

Student Club

The Student Occupational Therapy Assistant Club (SOTA) strives to increase awareness in the community related to healthcare and occupational therapy services. The club also holds several fundraising events each year to support charitable organizations.
Occupational Therapy Career Outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Occupational Therapy Assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations, meaning that employment through 2010 is expected to increase by 36% or more.

This growth is based on several factors, including the needs of the aging baby boom population, increasing awareness of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and special education service implementation in the public schools.

“As a new grad, I was fortunate to find a job I love with assistance from the Career Services Office at Briarwood College. The faculty at Briarwood provided me with a great foundation and the tools I need to begin my career as a certified occupational therapy assistant.”
