This program prepares students to pursue a career in the growing field of child care. The comprehensive curriculum includes knowledge of child development and the skills necessary to provide appropriate and effective assistant care and instruction to children in various environments. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared for employment and/or further education.

Child Development Career Outlook
Jobs for childcare professionals are expected to grow to meet the continuing needs of working parents. Positions for teachers and education paraprofessionals continue to be available as school systems respond to the need and the demand for higher standards of early childhood education. Social service jobs are also expected to grow to meet the needs of new and expanding social programs.

Nicole is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at St. Joseph College. She plans to work as a counselor in a school or social services agency and eventually have her own practice.
