Criminal Justice

Job opportunities for law enforcement officers and detectives will grow at a faster than average rate, due to greater awareness and concern for drug-related crime and general safety.

Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene is projected to be one of the fastest growing employment fields through 2012, as more people seek dental care and hygienists take over roles previously filled by dentists.

Fashion Merchandising

New jobs for fashion merchandisers will open up due to those retiring or moving to different professions.

Mortuary Science

Job openings for funeral directors will increase as more and more baby boomers retire. The median salary for funeral directors in 2002 was $43,380.

Nuclear Medicine Technology

The job growth in nuclear medicine technology will be better than average, due the increasing older population, who are the major consumers of nuclear medicine technology services.

Paralegal

Job growth for paralegals is expected to be faster than average, as law firms hire more paralegals and assign them responsibilities previously handled by lawyers in order to cut costs and make legal services more available.
